The North Dakota Family Alliance (NDFA) offers condolences to the family of George Tiller after he was fatally wounded on Sunday in Kansas.  “Our prayers are with the Tiller family, as well as others involved in this tragedy,” remarks Tom Freier, NDFA Executive Director.  “Even though we vehemently disagree with Dr. Tiller’s practice of performing abortions, including late term abortions, NDFA opposes the violent taking of a human life.”

The NDFA opposes all abortions and encourages a spirited, peaceful discourse on the issue to end the practice of taking the life of the unborn.  NDFA supports peacefully gathering to bring attention to the issue of life, but does not condone violent actions.

“In this country we call America, we live by the rule of law.  Whether in regard to the issue of abortion, or the shooting of George Tiller, we need to honor that rule of law,” states Freier.  NDFA is confident the person/s responsible for this act of violence will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. “At the same time,” says Freier, “we will continue to do all we can to end abortion and the taking of innocent unborn lives.”
