Many of us as parents installed childproof latches on our kitchen cabinets to protect our young children, and as they grow we try to balance the need for protection and allowing a healthy growth to maturity.
This balance in regard to the cultural influences of the day can be difficult—here are a few tips:
Know your kids. Play with them, pray with them, observe them, and discern their gifts, character, and needs.
Know their hangouts. Know where your kids spend their time; school, church, concerts, and don’t be misled by the name—know what goes on there.
Know their friends. Really get to know their friends, and make your home a safe place for them to be..
Know your kids, their hangouts, and their friends----and you and your children will be the big winners in today’s culture.
