January 4, 2011 - Pastor's Pro-Life Declaration

To view and print the Pro-Life Ad, click here.

To review and print the Pastor's Pro-Life Declaration, click here.

To print the letter, click here.

Thank you to the pastors circulating this ‘Pro-Life Declaration’. Thank you. Thank you.
If you have already signed, thank you.
If you have not—please review the letter below and attached. Then open the attached declaration, review, and if you agree with the principle, print, sign, and return. FYI, also, you may open the scanned full page ProLife ad placed in the Fargo Forum. WOW!!

And then if you could pass along to fellow denominational pastoral colleagues across the state, as well as pastors in your geographic area, we would be very grateful.

December, 2010

Dear Pastor,

In conjunction with the 40 Days for Life campaign, a group of pastors & priests in the greater Fargo area have taken the initiative to show their support for life. They asked their fellow clergy to sign the attached ‘Pro-Life Declaration’. Some 70 area pastors responded with a signature indicating their agreement with the declaration’s support for life. Eventually they chose to even show that support by publishing the declaration in a full page ad in the Fargo Forum.

We would like to facilitate this same type of effort to be replicated in other cities and all across North Dakota. That is why we are asking you to read the declaration, and if you are in agreement with the ‘pro-life declaration’, to please print, sign, and remit.

Just as in our quest to share the Gospel, unity is so important in the life issue. There are so many with such great passion, and it is imperative that the prolife community utilize that passion in a unified manner. This declaration signed by pastors spanning denominational lines—will send a strong message to all.

We believe this declaration will convict the life community---to demonstrate our unity in prayer, our unity in public support of life, and a unified voice to be heard by those setting public policy.

We are anticipating hundreds of signatures and would like share the magnitude of this effort in conjunction with the Roe v Wade anniversary in January. Would you respond as soon as possible?

In Him, for Him

November 14, 2010 - Family Week Celebration

View Poster.

The North Dakota Family Alliance has requested and the governor has designated by proclamation November 14-20th as Family Week. The primary purpose is to honor the family and encourage families to spend time together. This year’s emphasis is on the “care of orphans”.

NDFA has sent Family Week posters to every school and church in the state, as well distributing many others across the state. To view a printer friendly version of the Family Week poster, click here. Please feel free to make copies to share with family and friends. You may refer others to our website to view all information at www.ndfa.org.

Our intention is that the Family Week designation will bring special focus to the family, and stir each of us to plan an activity to promote the family, enable families to spend time together, and to especially focus on the care of orphans.

We would appreciate if special mention could be made on Sunday, November 14th to highlight this special week. Remind your pastor of the Family Week Celebration.

As special events are planned, we will share them on this page. If you are planning a Family Week Celebration event, let us know and we will post.

May 6, 2010 - National Day of Prayer - May 6, 2010

"The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him" Nahum 1:7

Greetings:
On May 6th the 59th annual National Day of Prayer will be observed around the country, and here in North Dakota. To learn more about the national event go to www.nationaldayofprayer.org. While at the NDP site you will be able to find sites where a National Day of Prayer event will be held, including those in North Dakota (also below).

Let us encourage you to take part in one of these planned events. If you live in an area where an event has not yet been planned, please consider doing so. While it may be difficult to complete the process (between now & May 6th) of officially linking to the national organization, you can organize an unofficial event. Let your prayers be lifted, and immediately after your event start the process of linking your next event to the 2011 National Day of Prayer site. Let us know and we will put you in contact with the North Dakota state NDP coordinators. Also if you are planning a prayer event this year, but not linked to the national event—let us know, and we will send out a notice via email and post on our website.

The power of prayer is awesome and undeniable. It is more powerful than any earthquake, flood, hurricane, or tsunami—or all those combined from the beginning of time. It is more powerful than any army, or navy, or all the nuclear warheads in the world. We serve a mighty God, a God of justice, the Almighty. And yet, He responds to the call of His people with love and compassion—reminiscent of the purity and beauty we would see in the face of a newborn baby. If we will only call on Him, He will heal our land. For He is good. On May 6th, and every day, let us fall on our knees and call on Him.

February 12, 2010 - "Preserving the Family" panel discussion in Bismarck

“Preserving the Family” panel discussion in Bismarck
Friday, Feb. 12, 2010

Greetings:

NDFA will host a panel discussion at the “Take Back Washington” rally in Bismarck on Friday, February 12th. The “Preserving the Family” discussion will address many of the cultural issues important to and affecting North Dakota families. Panelists will speak to the issues of life/abortion, defending marriage, and protecting our religious freedoms, from all perspectives—state, local, and federal.

And more importantly, adequate time will be set aside to hear from all of you, the real stars, the grass-roots-voices. It is our hope that as those in attendance leave this breakout session, not only will they have gained valuable information, but will have had the opportunity to share their views.

Our family values and religious freedoms are under attack. Those values and freedoms which we believed were protected and reserved to our families and churches---are in need of people to stand up and voices to speak out. Please reserve the date, invite family and friends, and attend.

To attend the rally visit www.takebackwashington.net.

“TAKE BACK WASHINGTON” RALLY FEATURES MICHELE BACHMANN -- AND YOU!!!

Organizers of a "Take Back Washington" Rally and Town Hall Meeting on February 12 in Bismarck will bring together people from across North Dakota - and they're hosting two keynote speakers: one of America's best-known conservatives, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) -- and you, the grass-roots-voices of North Dakota whose opinions haven't been heard in Washington.

Rep. Bachmann (R-MN) announced that she'll keynote the rally at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck, but it'll be everyday North Dakotans who'll carry the rest of the day. They'll be given a rare opportunity to tell Washington of their frustration that it has refused to to them.

The event features panel workshops throughout the day on Agriculture, Economic Growth & Taxes; Health Care; Energy; Preserving the Family; and Protecting Second Amendment Freedoms. Rep. Bachmann will deliver her keynote after the panels and the Johnny Holm Band will provide entertainment in the evening.

"The cultural legacy we leave our children and grandchildren are in jeopardy and its time the voices of the people are heard as we work to preserve the family," said Tom Freier, Executive Director of the North Dakota Family Alliance.

"Government can't - and shouldn't be - everything to everybody. We need restraint in spending, but we also need restraint in wanting. As citizens of this great country, we have to quit expecting and asking for more. Taxing and spending won't get us back on track. Personal responsibility and initiative, balanced with opportunity, will," North Dakota Farm Bureau President Eric Aasmundstad said.

"To change Washington, we must start with grassroots activists across North Dakota. We all agree on the key issues: taxes are too high, spending is out of control and a Washington take over of health care would be devastating.Together we can be an unstoppable force to make Washington work for us instead of the other way around," North Dakota GOP Chairman Gary Emineth said.

"The Tea Party movement is an example of people coming together in order to be heard about the direction of our government, particularly the national debt we are leaving our kids, and the over-reaching we see from Washington. People want us to get back to principles that built this nation into the greatest country in the world," said Robert W. Harms, an influential grassroots activist from Bismarck.

November 4, 2009 - Balancing Truth & Grace Conference Video

Balancing Truth & Grace Conferences, A Christian Response to Homosexuality

By any account, the recent conferences held in Grand Forks, Fargo, and Bismarck were a huge success. Almost 600 individuals attended, including over 100 clergy and church staff.

Melissa Fryrear and Jeff Johnston, with Focus on the Family, did an absolutely marvelous job of communicating a wealth of information, but more so sharing from the heart, a message of transformational hope. Their personal testimonies revealed a seldom-told story, from a perspective of having same-sex attractions and living in a homosexual relationship, and through the power of God’s love were able to transform their lives.

October 16, 2009 - Balancing Truth & Grace Conference - Bismarck

October 14th Hope Covenant Church Grand Forks
October 15th Calvary United Methodist Church Fargo
October 16th First Evangelical Free Church Bismarck

NDFA is hosting this great conference, in conjunction with these three host site churches. The conference will consist of an afternoon session for clergy, pastors, priests, youth directors, and all church staff, in addition to an evening session for the public. No admission charge for either event.

1-4:30pm pastors/priests seminar 7-9pm Seminar open to public

As the event title indicates, our intent is to inform in the spirit of truth and grace to fully understand the issue and be equipped to minister to someone dealing with same-sex attractions. And even more importantly, this will be a message of hope that through God’s love transformation is for all.

Presenters, Melissa Fryrear and Jeff Johnston are nationally known experts who have firsthand experience with this seldom-told side of the story. Their involvement in ministries such as Love Won Out and Exodus, and their current role at Focus on the Family, has and continues to provide the credentials to speak from a perspective which is invaluable.

The seminar topics at the afternoon clergy event will be: Understanding Female Homosexuality, Understanding Male Homosexuality, and How Should We Respond. The evening session will encompass a more general overview, personal testimonies, and a structured question and answer period.

As NDFA debated the sexual orientation issue (SB2278) during the last legislative session, it did so in the spirit of truth and grace. We vowed to continue to educate and inform in that spirit. This conference is just for that purpose. If you are a pastor/priest, please plan on attending. All others—please plan on attending the evening session, and encouraging your church pastors/priests to attend the afternoon session. Please share this announcement with family, friends, and others who may have an interest in this great event.

This conference is just for that purpose. If you are a pastor/priest, please plan on attending. All others—please plan on attending the evening session, and encouraging your church pastors/priests to attend the afternoon session. Please share this announcement with family, friends, and others who may have an interest in this great event.
